  • Ten Strands & CalRecycle Tour
  • Leading emergency preparedness workshops in English and Spanish at Loma Verde, Lu Sutton, and Rancho
  • Teaching food waste lessons with Ms. Robles' fifth graders at Rancho Elementary
  • Junior botany classes with educator Mimi Wagoner-Reddick during the YMCA afterschool programs at Lynwood and Hamilton each week
  • One Hamilton Garden work day
  • Work days at the Loma Verde bioswale, Pleasant Valley food garden, and the Rancho courtyard and family garden
  • Fellows were busy designing inter-school competitions for Earth month, creating SketchUp maps of school gardens, leading green teams and garden classes, and assisting with walking school buses!

  • Lu Sutton Clean & Green Volunteer Day
  • Working with One Hamilton to make a pollinator meadow using milkweed from Xerces Society
  • Leading waste training lessons at the schools, green team activities, and compost monitor raffles
  • Participating in a one-week Walking School Bus event sponsored by Clean Air Day California and Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
