Novato High students have really stepped up! As a result, more than 1,000 lbs of compostable food waste has already been diverted from the landfill.

With just a little support from SMS, Lu Sutton has quickly made impressive strides in reducing mealtime waste and sorting recycling.

Loma Verde Elementary

After classroom presentations where students learned to sort their waste and why it’s important for our planet, nearly 40 Loma Verde Bears stepped up to take climate action by joining the Green Team.

Pleasant Valley Elementary

By encouraging mindful habits, students have enthusiastically contributed to recovering more than 300 lbs of food and diverting 11,450 lbs of compostable food waste from the landfill during the first quarter of the school year with SMS' help!

Hamilton TK-8

Joining us this year, Hamilton prioritizes environmental literacy and campus greening. The school garden provides produce for their community.

Olive Elementary

Olive joins the SMS network this year, revitalizing its Waste-Free-Warrior program to divert waste and engage both students and staff.

Lynwood Elementary

Lynwood provides hands-on opportunities to engage in meaningful projects for the environment to its students, now with help from SMS starting Fall 2024.

San Jose Middle School

In the last two months of 2024, San Jose Middle diverted over 3,000 lbs of organic waste through its waste station program.
